On my first holiday to Somerset I did manage to visit one of my dream locations. I always wanted to visit Glastonbury Tor and experience its mystical atmosphere.
Wells Cathedral was also on my "to visit" list and the grandeur of its architecture nearly blew me away. I was totally gobsmacked as soon I saw the outside of the building but even more speechless by the majestic insight views.
Berrow Beach was another destination which I had been looking forward to exploring. The shipwreck of the Norwegian barque SS Nornen created a lovely foreground interest of some spectacular sunsets.
The Beach as Brean Down in Somerset also enabled me to take some lovely shots of one of my favorite photographic genres.... waterscapes. And sometimes simplicity works just as good.
Brean Down not only offered some stunning views of the beach but also some stunning views of the Fort which was build in the 1860s as part of the defences against the dreaded French which were threatening to invade the UK.
While exploring the different areas of Somerset I also tried to experiment with a few night shots whenever it was possible. Below a shot of Weston Super Mare and of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, both shot late in the evening.
I have visited many other locations in Somerset by now and some of them I wont mention here as yet as they are part of a project I am doing. I will post that one up eventually, but not as yet.
I did some other shots this month as well, in a location much closer to home. But as I am intending to going back there again in a couple of days time I will not as yet post them images either. I want to see if I can get better ones, or maybe a few more to make another journal entry out of it. Them images will however go up next month for sure. So stay posted ..... keep checking back.
In the meanwhile... stay safe and be happy. xxx
